Corporate Women Association is an organization at the Catholic University of Leuven Campus Brussels with the mission to improve the position of women in business and ensure gender equality in all business environments.

We strongly believe that gender equality in business starts at its roots, much before graduates get their first jobs.

By raising awareness and engaging students, we aim at bringing a generation of competent and confident young women and men to the workforce.

Menstruation
Poverty Campaign

In partnership with Stuvo Brussels, KU Leuven, and Odisee, we launched a menstruation poverty campaign to tackle the issue of period poverty as well as raise awareness about the pressing issue.

1 in 8 women in Flanders between the age of 12 and 25 doesn't have enough money to buy the necessary sanitary products. Worldwide, over 500 million women don't have access to feminine hygiene products due to period poverty.

This campaign was carried out across all Odisee campuses in Belgium. On these campuses, collection points were put in place where individuals could donate period products of all kinds. These products were then used to fill cabinets which were placed in the women's bathrooms for anyone to use as needed. A poster campaign was also carried out across the campuses and social media to make students aware of this menstruation poverty campaign and encourage the rightful use of period products.

Thanks to these efforts, the campaign got various media attention, both print and radio, which significantly aided the reach of the awareness campaign! We were featured on VRT NWS, the Odisee Newsletter, Bruzz Radio, NRJ Radio, and MNM Radio.

Now, we are once again carrying out the menstruation poverty in collaboration with the LUCA School of Arts, KU Leuven, and Obscura. Visit our social media to learn more about the efforts and how you can help!
